I was crying sitting on the shore

When you crossed saying ‘hi’

I only wondered how ugly you were

 

I was watering my flowers

When you were staring at me

I only wondered how strange you were

 

I hated you somehow

I knew no one could help

 

I was looking at the stars

When I saw you dancing on your roof

I only wondered how funny you were

 

I was making my usual coffee

When you came by to see if I was okay

I only wondered how helpful you were

 

And then whenever I made coffee

I had someone to share with

 

I was looking at you, smiling

When you were flying a kite

I only wondered how free you were

 

I was shouting riding a bicycle

When you taught me the same

I only wondered how lovely you were

 

Everything around is so beautiful

It only takes a joyous me to see
